Blackheath Community support Halls Creek OpShop
Who We Are
I’m Giselle Brogan, I’m in primary-school at Blackheath Public School, located in the upper Blue Mountains, west of Sydney.
I need your help with a charitable project I have just begun – it is called the Blackheath Remote Op-Shop Project. The Remote OpShop Project provides a way for people to give pre-loved items a new purpose by supporting the development of independent, locally-owned, op-shops in Aboriginal communities throughout remote Australia.
In order to help I ask students and teachers at Blackheath Public School to find and donate a single item of clothing (it can be for children or adults), or some good second hand running shoes, or clean towels or linen, and bring it to school next term.
I will be asking Stage 3 to donate in October, Stage 2 in November and Stage 1 in December. I will collect the items and with the help of donations from local businesses in Blackheath I will arrange for the items to be transported to remote Aboriginal communities. There the remote op-shop will be able to sell the items and invest the money in the local community.
At this point I am collecting donations for the Child & Parent Centre in Halls Creek in remote Western Australia. For those interested, you can donate financially to my project. Funds will be used to pay for postage and shipping,
Our Goal
Our goal is to collect and send 20kg per month of pre-loved goods, and raise $1000 to put towards shipping for the year.

I love an op shop! I would have liked to have donated more but the150.00 amount and custom amount option don't work.
