Loanbun Community
Fitzroy Crossing
Loanbun is a small community located along the river near Fitzroy Crossing at the new bridge. Communities are alive and full of stories about how they come to be and why that place in country is important for health and culture.
Loanbun community has been impacted by the flood and is still recovering along with homes currently being rebuilt now.
Communities chair person Maxine Malo thought it will be a good idea for a community op shop as having the home maker renovated giving the community an opportunity to have it in use.
The community is close family living together with children of their own amongst elderly women grandchildren and great grandchildren which enjoy going down to the river for fishing, camping, cooking on the campfire & taking kids out, telling stories even the young ones go out hunting and provide for all, the community has love care and guidance within each other.
