Yuelamu Community (also known as Mount Allan) is a remote Aboriginal community located north-west of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory. Yuelamu is an Anmatyerr community with a population of approximately 150 people, with strong cultural connections to Country, family, and community life.
The Yuelamu OpShop operates from the local Art Centre and is run by community volunteers. The OpShop provides affordable clothing and essential household items for local residents, while also acting as a welcoming community space. Through volunteer involvement, the OpShop supports skill-building, connection, and local ownership, helping keep goods circulating within the community and reducing cost-of-living pressures in a remote setting.
