Thamarrurr Youth Indigenous Corporation (TYIC) and Thamarrurr Development Corporation (TDC) are community-owned organisations based in Wadeye, a remote Indigenous community located 403 km southwest of Darwin in the Thamarrurr region.

Wadeye is home to around 3,000 people across more than ten language groups. Each year, from October to April, the wet season brings flooding that often cuts off road access, making local support even more vital for families.

The Wadeye OpShop plays an important role in the community. It provides affordable clothing and essential items, especially during the wet season, while also creating opportunities for local youth to build confidence, gain work-readiness skills, and participate in community-led enterprise.

Every dollar raised through the OpShop goes directly back into supporting youth programs, empowering the next generation of young people in Wadeye.
