About Us
Remote OpShop Project is Australia’s largest network of OpShops in remote First Nations communities. We’re now operating in 45 remote communities across the NT, WA and QLD, along with a Reuse Hub in Darwin, using circular economy principles to divert surplus goods from landfill and turn them into community-led economic and social opportunity—keeping value on Country.
Our OpShops improve access to affordable clothing and essential goods, while also creating local employment, building business skills, and operating as social enterprises that reinvest profits into community-identified priorities. Each year, more than 200,000 kilograms of clothing and goods are contributed through a growing network of public donors and select brand partners, helping to connect urban excess with remote need in practical and meaningful ways.
Importantly, the growing demand from communities is about more than expansion alone. It signals a desire for greater access, control, and choice — and for community-led solutions that strengthen self-determination, local enterprise, and long-term opportunity.
